Marcia Riganti (Miss Marcia) is the JK-4 (Junior Kindergarten) teacher.
She began her teaching career at Saint Mary Magdalen in the early 1980’s after graduating from the University of Missouri.
After her second year of teaching, Miss Marcia was offered an opportunity to work aboard a small cruise ship. As a young Midwesterner, Marcia felt this was her chance of a lifetime to see the world. She decided to “pack my bags” and embark on a new experience. Following 24 years in the travel industry, getting married, and having children. Miss Marcia longed to return to the classroom! Miss Marcia has been back in the classroom ever since and feels blessed to be a part of the faith-filled community at Saint Mary Magdalen School. Miss Marcia thanks the parents of her students for entrusting her with the care and academic development of their precious child. It is her hope that their little one will find a special place at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School as a beloved child of God.
She hopes that each child feels that school is a safe, comfortable place where he/she enjoys learning, making new friends and feels/understands the presence of Christ in his/her daily activity.
At Saint Mary Magdalen, Miss Marcia coaches middle school students in the Bellarmine Speech League with colleague Laura Riviello and coordinates the GO! St. Louis Read, Right and Run program with colleague Katie Temporiti. Miss Marcia is a member of
the Tee Off for Technology Golf Tournament Committee which is held each spring.
Miss Marcia and her husband Jim are the proud parents of two grown children, Brendan and Caroline. She is delighted that her daughter followed in her footsteps to be a teacher AND is ‘over-the-moon’ that Caroline is teaching at Saint Mary.
